Founder Terms of Use

Last updated: 8 October 2026

Version 2026-10-08

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of Janus Board.

Janus Board is owned and operated by:

Made in Bloomsbury Ltd Company number: 16211222 Registered address: Flat 2 Devonshire Court, Boswell Street, London, WC1N 3PX, United Kingdom

In these Terms, “Janus”, “Janus Board”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Made in Bloomsbury Ltd.

“You” and “User” mean the individual or organisation using Janus Board.

By creating an account or using Janus Board, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Janus Board is

Janus Board is an AI powered business mentorship and advisory platform.

It allows users to interact with AI representations of entrepreneurs, founders, executives and other experts who have authorised their participation in Janus.

Depending on your subscription, you may be able to:

  • a. interact with individual AI Mentors;
  • b. create a personal advisory board;
  • c. ask multiple AI Mentors the same question;
  • d. receive a Janus Board synthesis of different Mentor perspectives;
  • e. provide information about your company so responses can be personalised;
  • f. maintain conversation history and company context; and
  • g. access other features introduced by Janus from time to time.

2. AI Mentors are AI, not the human Mentor

An AI Mentor is an artificial intelligence representation informed by material, frameworks, instructions and other content authorised by the relevant Mentor.

When you interact with an AI Mentor: you are interacting with AI, not directly with the named individual.

The real Mentor does not necessarily:

  • a. see your question;
  • b. personally write the response;
  • c. review the response before you receive it;
  • d. agree with every response;
  • e. know that the interaction has occurred; or
  • f. accept responsibility for the response.

Janus will take reasonable steps to identify AI Mentors clearly as AI representations.

3. Janus Board is not a legal board of directors

The term “Board” refers to the product experience of consulting multiple AI Mentors.

Janus Board does not create:

  • a. a statutory board of directors;
  • b. a non executive director relationship;
  • c. a fiduciary relationship;
  • d. an advisory board with legal authority;
  • e. an agency relationship;
  • f. a partnership; or
  • g. any other formal corporate governance arrangement.

AI Mentors are not directors or officers of your company and have no power to make decisions or act on your behalf.

You remain responsible for all decisions relating to your business.

4. No professional advice

Janus is designed to provide general business information, perspectives and educational guidance.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, Janus does not provide regulated or professional:

  • a. legal advice;
  • b. tax advice;
  • c. accounting advice;
  • d. investment advice;
  • e. financial advice;
  • f. medical advice;
  • g. employment law advice; or
  • h. any other advice requiring professional authorisation.

You should obtain appropriate professional advice where necessary.

5. AI outputs can be wrong

Generative AI can produce information that is:

  • a. inaccurate;
  • b. incomplete;
  • c. outdated;
  • d. misleading;
  • e. inconsistent;
  • f. based on incorrect assumptions; or
  • g. different from what the real Mentor would personally say.

You should independently evaluate important information before relying on it.

The existence of a named or authorised AI Mentor does not guarantee the accuracy of a response.

6. You are responsible for your decisions

You remain solely responsible for determining whether and how to use information generated through Janus.

Janus and its Mentors do not make business decisions for you.

You should consider relevant facts, professional advice and your own judgement before taking material actions such as:

  • a. hiring or dismissing employees;
  • b. raising capital;
  • c. investing money;
  • d. entering contracts;
  • e. changing prices;
  • f. taking on debt;
  • g. restructuring a company; or
  • h. making significant commercial decisions.

7. Mentor expertise and boundaries

Each AI Mentor may have defined areas of expertise and subject matter boundaries.

Janus may:

  • a. refuse certain requests;
  • b. redirect questions;
  • c. provide safety warnings;
  • d. prevent responses in areas outside the Mentor's intended expertise; or
  • e. recommend that you speak to a human professional.

These restrictions may apply even where a User requests otherwise.

8. Human Mentor access

Where Janus offers an option to contact, book or enquire about working with the real Mentor, that functionality is separate from the AI Mentor service.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • a. there is no guarantee the Mentor will accept an enquiry;
  • b. your Janus subscription does not entitle you to personal access to a Mentor;
  • c. additional fees may apply; and
  • d. any separate engagement may be governed by separate terms agreed between you and the Mentor.

9. Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create a Janus account.

You agree to provide accurate account information.

You are responsible for:

  • a. keeping your login credentials secure;
  • b. activity occurring through your account;
  • c. notifying us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised; and
  • d. ensuring that your use of Janus complies with these Terms.

You may not share your individual account with another person unless your plan expressly permits multiple users.

10. Business and Consumer Users

Janus is primarily designed for founders, entrepreneurs and people using the service for business purposes.

If you use Janus wholly or mainly for purposes relating to your trade, business, craft or profession, you are a Business User.

You must not upload information where you do not have the legal right or authority to do so.

In particular, you should take care before uploading:

  • a. confidential client information;
  • b. trade secrets belonging to another organisation;
  • c. personal data about other individuals;
  • d. information subject to legal privilege;
  • e. information restricted by an NDA; or

  • c. the Mentor's name;
  • d. the Mentor's photograph or likeness;
  • e. the Mentor's underlying intellectual property; or

19. Subscriptions

Certain Janus features require a paid subscription.

Current plans, features and prices are displayed before purchase.

Plans may include, for example:

Single Mentor and Janus Board

The price displayed at checkout is the price applicable to your subscription, together with any applicable taxes.

  • d. when paid billing begins; and
  • e. the amount that will be charged.

Where a trial automatically converts into a paid subscription, this will be clearly disclosed before you begin the trial.

22. Cancellation

You may cancel a recurring subscription through the functionality provided in your account or billing portal.

Unless applicable law requires otherwise:

  • a. cancellation stops future renewal charges;
  • b. your subscription remains available until the end of the period already paid for; and
  • c. amounts already paid are not automatically refundable merely because you choose not to continue using the service.

Janus will not intentionally make cancellation unreasonably difficult.

23. Consumer cancellation rights

If you are legally acting as a consumer, you may have statutory cancellation rights.

Under current UK distance-selling rules, many online service and digital-content contracts carry a 14 day cancellation period, subject to rules concerning immediate supply and services already provided. Legislation.gov.uk

Nothing in these Terms removes rights that applicable consumer law gives you.

Where required, Janus will provide additional information or obtain additional consent before beginning immediate supply of digital services.

24. Refunds

Refunds will be provided where required by law.

Otherwise, requests for discretionary refunds may be considered by Janus on a case by case basis.

Nothing in this clause limits statutory rights available to Consumer Users.

25. Changes to prices

Janus may change subscription prices.

Any price increase affecting an existing subscription will be communicated in advance where required by law.

The new price will not ordinarily apply before the next applicable billing period after any required notice.

You may cancel if you do not wish to continue at the new price.

A Mentor may:

  • a. product development;
  • b. safety;
  • c. legal compliance;

  • f. commercial reasons.

We will not intentionally remove a material paid feature during an active subscription without considering the impact on affected users.

This limitation does not apply where liability cannot lawfully be limited.

33. Consumer Users

If you are a Consumer User, nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or statutory rights where doing so would be unlawful.

UK law prevents digital-content providers from contracting out of various mandatory consumer rights, including requirements relating to satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and conformity with description. Legislation.gov.uk
